Wanda Maximoff, also known as Scarlet Witch, is a powerful character within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Her first appearance was in a post-credits scene in the film *Captain America: The Winter Soldier* (2014).
Initially portrayed as an antagonist allied with Ultron, Wanda eventually joins the Avengers. Her abilities, initially thought to be derived from the Mind Stone, include telekinesis, telepathy, and energy manipulation. Wanda's powers are later revealed to stem from Chaos Magic, making her the Scarlet Witch, a being of immense power.
The Disney+ TV Show *WandaVision* (2021) explores Wanda's grief and trauma following the death of Vision.
